Fade Awaays

Indie Rock, Alternative Rock

Zachary Osborn, Music Associate, Radio FWD

Formed in 2013, Fade Awaays have been a shining example of Toronto’s world class indie rock scene. What sets Fade Awaays apart from other bands in Toronto is their democratic approach to making music with each member contributing to both songwriting and lead vocals. The band consists of Duncan Briggs on bass, Sean Hackl on guitar, Reid MacMaster on guitar, and Owen Wolff on drums. Fade Awaays is also known for their relentless work ethic, performing gigs all over the GTA, opening for artists like The Beaches, Wolf Alice, and Hot Flash Heat Wave, and playing at Canadian music festivals like CMW, NXNE, and Indie Week. The band started out by releasing singles Get Along and Kentucky in 2018 before releasing their debut album, Taste of Life the following year. The album also featured the smash hit, and my personal favourite track, She Don’t Know Why, which helped boost their notoriety and get them featured on local radio stations. With the lockdowns during COVID-19, they had to take a break from the touring and gigging and ended up releasing their EP These Visions in 2019. The band is currently on their 3rd EP which is lined up to released sometime in early summer of 2022 which we are eager to hear.
